Exploring Public Art Practices was a symposium presented by the Kenneth Rainin Foundation featuring artist talks and discussions with local and national artists to investigate the shifting field of public artistic practice, and to showcase the opportunities and challenges of working in public space in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Taking place at the Oakland Museum of California, the program was developed in collaboration with curator Courtney Fink and featured a keynote presentation by international collective Ghana Think Tank. Additional talks were featured by artists Mildred Howard, Postcommodity, Favianna Rodriguez, Transformazium, Michael Arcega, Kota Ezawa, Ana Teresa Fernández, Cliff Hengst, Dee Hibbert-Jones and Nomi Talisman, Alison Pebworth, Chris Sollars, and Jenifer K. Wofford.
